We have some beautiful stately homes in the North.

Here are my favourites.

In East Yorkshire between York and Bridlington.

This is my top favourite. Stacked with furniture and ancient artefacts I could live here, forever.

Nostell - in Wakefield - is a beautiful house with fine gardens and fishing on day ticket.

In Derbyshire.

This is the fine home of the duke of Devonshire.

If you are an art lover then this is the place for you.

As you drive over the hill the sight of Chatsworth estate will take your breath away.

Near Leeds, West Yorkshire.

Home of the earl of Harewood.

A cracking house with extensive views.

Last time I visited they Had a small zoo - good for the kids. I don't know if it is still there - I will have to revisit.

Only a couple of miles or so from Chatsworth House.

I love this place it is steeped in history. check opening times before visiting.
