The Farnley Tyas shoot, is in the village of Farnley Tyas.

sited on open farm land, the shoot offers a wide variety of sporting stands, to suit most grades of shooters.

This is park lodge, shooting school. nr snaith,east York's.

It gives me the greatest of pleasure, to reinstate, park lodge to my site. this is a large ground, providing about 15 varied sporting stands, with high towers, several excellent skeet and dtl layouts,and a well laid out compak sporting. after a continual shaky start. The club had, many problems, with no birds, and traps not working.

This is now all in the past. on our last visit, 9/4/2009 we shot 600, clays with only about 10 no birds.

total trap rewiring, access road, tarmacked, this is now a top class shooting ground, full english breakfast available.

This is thimbleby clay target centre.

A real Gem of a shooting ground it has to be rated as one of the of the best esp layouts I have come across targets range from easy to testing

facilities in the clubhouse include tea and coffee, an assortment of goodies. 

Toilets, and  disability friendly.

The 100 bird esp layout consists of 10 stands in a lightly wooded valley, spread along aprox 1/4 of a mile of easy dry uphill walking,

The stands are well spaced, and the traps strategically place to provide some very interesting and hittable birds,

Along the track some of the stands have seating and rest areas to have a cuppa and reflect why you missed the last stand. can't be bad.

Also is a 25 bird compact sporting not to be missed.

To sum up I love the place and will return as often as my pension will run to it. Give yourself a treat and visit soon,

disability access is very good. and in my book this the best value for money shooting in the area.

CONISTON SHOOTING AND ACTIVITY CENTRE

 This is one of my top grounds. Nice welcome here. All the help you need + some cracking bacon butties and free coffee. Catering for all disciplines.

About 5 miles north of Skipton amid the yorkshire dales, off road driving, falconry, archery,it doesn't come better. Check out the website.

 

MANCHESTER CLAY SHOOTING

This is a nice place to shoot with a warm welcome and first class facilities.

Hot and cold food is available from full English breakfast / pie and peas /or sandwiches. with tea coffee or soft drinks ( However ) we go to shoot and the site is well organised.

It truly is a seven star ground. with a good variety of stands, for all abilities.

Humberside has been removed from my site.

 Kelbrook has been removed. from my site.

This is a cracking shoot in pristine woodland, once a month in winter and  fortnightly in summer.

who's in the hut?

 the traps are discreetly hidden and well placed to provide top class sporting action.

were in the hut! anyone for a pie.

 As you can see light refreshments are on offer,tea,coffee, pork pies, and cake,

the layout of the ground is esp, changed every shoot,to give a good variety of targets.

with one of the lads on hand to give advice, or help. 

                                            the layouts are set at varied degrees to suit the new shooter, or the top shooters.

before or after shooting just relax with friends and a nice cuppa, and maybe a pie (or two.)

yearly prizes are on offer for the best in each section a.b.and c.

also a bottle of wine is drawn for at each shoot

DIRECTIONS...

From the centre of Otley go over the river bridge heading for blubberhouses. Up the steep hill passing the spite pub (top food is to be had here) when the road levels off, continue for about a mile to crossroads. Turn left (a small sign says 'clay shoot'). Go down hill 100 yards and enter field on your left .

shoot time is 12.00 till 3.00 last signing winter.

and 12.00 till 3.30 in summer.

Refreshments and cartridges are available on site. also a portaloo.

Every shoot the traps are moved to give variety.

THE REINDEER, Near Wakefield

 EVERY SUNDAY MORNING.

At the reindeer pub, Overton near Wakefield, opposite the Yorkshire mining museum.Meet in the car park at 9.45 am small groups always welcome a good set of shooters always ready to help should you need it.

Shoot is in a wooded quarry. This one is a tester!
